Zenaida Alonso passed away on May 15, 2026, leaving behind her loved ones and reuniting with the love of her life in heaven.

Zenaida Alonso was born on June 8, 1936, in Havana, Cuba. She was the youngest of 13 siblings. Selfless by nature, Zenaida did not complete her schooling so she could help her mother ensure the family always had a roof over their heads. As an adult, Zenaida met Nicasio Alonso, and they shared a marriage that lasted 40 years. Together, they had two sons: Nicasio Fernandez Alonso Jr. and Thomas Alonso.

The Alonso family later left Cuba and established their lives in New York. While Nicasio was at work, Zenaida formed a close friendship with a tenant named Sandy, helping care for Sandy’s young daughter, Mary. To this day, Mary remains part of our family.

Later, the Alonso's moved to Miami, Florida. After Nicasio passed away in 2000, Zenaida never remarried, honoring the vows they shared. She is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, great-grandchild, and her extended family in New York. Zenaida was the definition of a devoted wife and mother. She was loved and admired by all who met her, and her memory lives on through her family.
