Victor Julio Sanchez

It is with great sadness, Victor Julio Sanchez's family announces his passing on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, at the age of 93. He passed away

peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Gilza who loved him very dearly. Julio had seven siblings, and will be fondly remembered by his only daughter Mari, Gilza, and numerous family members and friends.

On April 12 ^th 1927, Victor Julio Sanchez  was born in Caibarien, Cuba. In the early 1960's he immigrated to Florida with his wife Bertha, who later on passed away, and daughter Mari. Although his birth name was Victor, family members preferred to call him Julio, however, upon arrival to the US he insisted that he be called by his birth name "Victor"

For those who knew him, would attest that his work was his number one passion. He was a loyal employee with Dade County Public Schools as a Mechanic Supervisor in the Food and Nutrition Department, and worked there for over 50 years. Victor was very well loved by his peers, and throughout his years of working with Dade County Public Schools, he was graciously honored with several awards, and also recognized for many other achievements. Being the dedicated person that he was, he returned back to work after retirement, and volunteered for several more years.

What a blessing!

After retirement he was very active, he enjoyed going to the gym, playing pool with his buddies from the building, exploring places on his bike, and fishing. He was known for being the "Ultimate Handyman, because he enjoyed fixing and repairing all kinds of maintenance issues in which he took so much pride in. Most recently, he enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, which he found to be very relaxing in his quiet moments, and this kept his mind going. He such had a creative soul, there was absolutely nothing "Papi" couldn't' do. He was invincible !

During his wonderful marriage to Gilza, they did so many things together, they travelled allot, and he became very fond of her country, Brazil. They also went to church whenever possible, and were members of  The Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostes in Miami Shores, Florida, where he gave his life to the Lord.

Although he will be deeply missed, the heavenly angels have now reunited him with his siblings in eternal life. May his soul forever Rest In Peace.
