Victor M Carreno

Victor Manuel Carreño , of Boca Raton, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021.

He was born to the late Doña Maria Medina Ortiz on October 8, 1950, in Bogota, Colombia. Victor received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of the Andes in 1970.

After graduati on Victor emigrated from Colombia to New York City. In New York, he received a bachelor's degree in computer science from CCNY and earned a reputation for excellence in math. He enjoyed a successful career as a Computer Programmer at IBM as part of the innovative group of IBM Boca Raton programmers who developed the first PC in 1981 and worked as a Project Manager at AT&T until he retired in 2008.

Victor was known for making everyone laugh with his fun-loving personality a nd great sense of humor . He enjoyed spending time with his family, comedy shows, movies, and listening to music from the '60s and '70s.

He is survived by his children David Carreño of Palm Beach Gardens and Jamila Currin of Houston. He also is survived by one grandchild, Nathan Bustamante.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 5 th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Vista Funeral Home , followed by entombment at Vista Memorial Gardens.
