Tulio Montesano

Tulio Montesano, passed away in a car accident Tuesday, February 23, 2021 one day after his 67 th birthday.

Tulio was born on February 22 nd , 1954 at St. Michael's Hospital in Newark, New Jersey to Tulio and Virginia Montesano of Regla de Havana, Cuba.  He attended St. Antonius and St. Aloysius Grammar School as well as Essex Catholic High Schools in Newark, before transferring to Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, FL where he graduated in 1971.  He also attended Miami Dade College.

Tulio is survived by his only daughter, Michelle Ann Montesano Mullinex with Mary Ann Mullen Swinford (deceased). He was devoted father to Michelle and her husband Edward "Eddie" Mullinex and doting grandfather to his granddaughter, Jordan Mullinex of Palm Springs North, FL.  Tulio was a proud PSN resident for over 30 years before moving to Palm Beach.

His spent many weekends visiting his mother who was cared for by his only sister, Vivian Stratman, brother-in-law, Robert Stratman and niece Vanessa Mazza of Port Orange, FL.

Tulio, leaves behind his loving and adoring wife of 15 years, Barbara Wise Montesano, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Mr. Montesano was driving his in-law's, Frank and Jane Wise, to get their Covid 19 shot before the accident occurred. They truly enjoyed traveling the world together and favorite spots were Paris and Italy!

His step-children, Pamela Miller (Christopher) and William Martin, his grandkids, Bradley and Lily Miller were a major part of his life as well. He spent weekends at soccer games and horseback riding event.  He was extremely close with the entire Wise family, who he enjoyed helping and supporting over the decades.

He was an employee of People's TECO Gas for over 40 years before retiring just two short years ago.  He worked his way up the ranks from a line man to a manager during his long career in the gas industry.

He was a HUGE fan of all the local Miami teams. He especially loved The University of Miami football program and made it a point to attend their last home game at The Orange Bowl! He was an original season ticket holder of The Miami Heat and went to the very first Marlins game.

Tulio had a tremendous sense of humor and a very a kind heart. He would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone he thought might need it. He was a responsible person that encouraged education and knowledge.  He was a proud Democrat and a super voter in Florida.

He will be missed by the hundreds of friends and family members he adopted whether by blood or by love.  He made it a point to insert himself into people's lives. He wanted to help people and hoped that his guidance would do that!

Services will be this Saturday, March 6 th at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes, FL from 1 to 4 pm. There will be a Zoom link set up for those that are out of town.
