Sharon Doyle Armesto

Sharon Doyle Armesto, age 58, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 after a courageous battle against COVID-19.

Sharon was born on August 1, 1963 in Miami, FL to James Doyle and Patricia (Hurd) Doyle. She graduated in 1981 from Hialeah High School and went on to serve the City of Hialeah for 28 years as a decorated Patrol Officer, D.A.R.E Officer, G.R.E.A.T Officer, Domestic Violence Detective, and most important to her, a Special Victims Detective. Following her retirement from the City of Hialeah, she then went on to serve the City of Miami Beach as a Complaint Operator II, and the Village of Key Biscayne as a police officer and dispatcher. Her final assignment was returning to the city that she loved, working alongside her daughter, Jaimee, as a Police Dispatcher in Hialeah. She always accomplished anything she put her mind to, and that included earning her Associate's degree in English from Broward College in 2018.

Throughout her career, Sharon was recognized numerous times for her bravery, dedication, passion, and strength. She received countless accolades and citizen commendations. Sharon would never consider herself a hero, but I think we can all agree that she was.

Sharon loved being surrounded by her big family of two daughters, five siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She joyfully and selflessly dedicated her life to providing for her children, Jaimee and Brooke. She also took on the role of "second-mom" to many. She loved crafting, puzzles, Starbucks, her friends, her dogs, and the color pink.

Sharon is loved dearly and has forever touched the lives of many. So often described as a "light" in the lives of others, Sharon was known for her compassion, altruism, generosity, and infectious smile, and graciously offered her all to anyone who crossed her path. The impact Sharon has had on our lives can never be replaced.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Jim Doyle, her mommy, Patricia Doyle Nolan, and step-father Ed Nolan. She is survived by her two children Jaimee and Brooke, five siblings Jacki Merlin (Steve), Teri Duplessis (Greg), Nancy Eden (Tom), Jimmy Doyle (Tracy), and Lynn Shepherd, her bonus sisters Debbie Spezzano (Billy), Donna Goodson (Robert), Mayelin Alvarez (Manny), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 8, 6-8 pm, with a service immediately following. Interment with full honors will take place Thursday, September 9 at 3 pm. Both events will be at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL, 33014.  As a sign of respect for the circumstances of Sharon's passing, please wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.
