Sarah Dorminey, of Miami Lakes, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was 75 years old.
Sarah was the daughter of Verna G. And Joe F. McAlister. She was born in Taylor, Texas in 1941. She later moved to Hialeah, Florida where she graduated from Hialeah High School in 1958. She received a degree in Interior Design from Miami Dade College. In 1959 she married the love of her life, Jim Dorminey, and they were married for 57 years. She enjoyed free diving, dancing, cooking and traveling. Sarah was also an avid tennis and bridge player.

Sarah was predeceased by her brother John McAlister.

Sarah is survived by her loving husband James (Jim) Dorminey of Miami Lakes, Florida; sons: Mark (Robin) Dorminey and Dale (Melanie) Dorminey all of Wellington, Florida. Grandchildren: James (JD) Dorminey; Michael Dorminey; Brett Dorminey and Nicole Dorminey; Sister: Ellen (David) Allen; brothers: Joe McAlister and Tony McAlister; nephew: David (Nancy) Allen; nieces: Terri (Cliff) Allen; Vikki Schiff; Denise Otto; Debbie McAlister; sister in law: June Frazier; many great nieces and nephews and life long friends. Sarah cared more about others than she did herself. Every conversation with her was always about you and what was going on in your life. Sarah was a special woman who created a special family, and she will always be held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The family is planning a private ceremony in the Keys. Please feel free to make a donation in memory of her to the charity of your choice in her name.
