Sara Mejia

Sara Mejia of Hialeah, Florida , passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022 , surrounded by her family . She was 95 years old. B orn on September 18, 1926 in Brownsville, T exas, she began working for Pan American Airlines at 15 years old to help support her family . S ara's career provided her with the opportunity to move to South Florida , where she met and married her husband , Alfredo Mejia , Sr . in 1959, and had four children. Although her husband passed away in 1968, Sara, a devoted and loving mother, continued to work to support and raise her children , never remarrying. While still working, Sara enjoyed watching her children's sporting events as well as traveling with her family to domestic and international cities. All who knew Sara knew her as a frequent casino visitor who enjoyed playing penny slot machines, as they provided her with hours of enjoyment.

S adly , Sara lost h er daughter, Delia Mejia , who passed in 2012 and her son Ricardo Mejia , who passed in 2021 .

Sara is s urvived by her son, Alfredo Mejia , Jr. , daughter, Maria E. Landolfi , son-in law ,

Joseph M. Landolfi , Jr. , granddaughters , Ashley Mejia and Carleen Mejia, great grandchildren,

Issac Harney , Antonio Harney , Briana Harney , and Oliv i a Titterton .

Viewing will be held on February 2, 2022 at Vista Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 1:45 PM and burial at Vista Cemetary at 2:00pm.
