Obituary

If you knew Sal, you knew there was never a dull moment when he was around.

Born in Havana, Cuba, on October 4, 1958, Sal came to Miami with his parents at the young age of 10 in search of a better life. He would go on to build a life of his own in Hialeah, where he raised his family, worked hard, and made sure everyone around him had a good laugh and a cold beer along the way.

Sal was a talented heavy-engine diesel mechanic and a dedicated provider for his family. He married the love of his life Ivette, and together they raised their daughters, Bianca and Alexandra, who he adored.

Sal was much more than his work. He was the class clown, the prankster, and the life of the party. The kind of person who could turn an ordinary day into a story everyone would remember. He loved making people laugh, pulling a good prank, and listening to his favorite music, especially Elvis Presley, Plácido Domingo and Carlos Santana.

He had a tough exterior, a strong personality, and a heart that belonged to his family. He loved his mother Lourdes and his daughters more than anything, and they stood beside him with that same love until the very end.Sal was one of a kind. There will never be another quite like him—and honestly, there probably shouldn’t be.He leaves behind laughter, stories, lessons, memories, and a lifetime of people who loved him.

Rest easy, Sal. Save us a seat at the party.
