Rosalba Rodriguez, 88 of Hialeah, died September 18, 2025, with her daughter Susie and niece Maria
Elena by her side.
Rosalba was born on July 27, 1937 on a farm near Santa Clara, Cuba, to the late Eliodoro and Angelica
Diaz. In 1956, She earned her accounting degree from the Professional School of Commerce of Santa
Clara. She married the late Federico Rodriguez in 1960.
Rosalba emigrated to the US in 1961 leaving everything behind due to the communist takeover. She was undeterred and devoted herself to raising her three children while also working outside the home. Jobs of note include: the Univac computer mainframe assembly line at Sperry in St Paul, Minn, the heart pacemaker assembly line at Cordis in Miami, and the National Fruit Market - a family run grocery store and laundromat business in Miami Beach.
After raising her children, Rosalba devoted her life to Christ and became deeply involved in ministry at
the Parish of Santa Barbara in Hialeah. In 2005, she earned her Lay Ministry Title from the Archdiocese of Miami, affirming her commitment to spiritual service. At Santa Barbara, she was an administrator and care giver for the parish pre-K program, nurturing young children with compassion and dedication. As an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion, she brought the Eucharist to the sick and home bound following Sunday Mass, offering comfort and connection to those unable to attend in person. Rosalba endured several years battling dementia and Alzheimer's. Throughout this time, she was lovingly cared for by her devoted daughter, Susie.
Rosalba is lovingly remembered by her brother: Hector Diaz (Lourdes); her children: Juan (Teresa), Susie, and Manny; her grandchildren: Thomas (Jenna), Alex (Carissa), John, Michael, and Jasmine; and her great grandchildren Lizzy and Jett.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30th from 10 AM -1 PM at Vista Funeral Home, followed by burial at Vista Memorial Gardens.
