Rogelio Gaspar Acosta, 87, of Hialeah passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, with his family by his side.

He was born to Rogelio Acosta-Cruz and Rosa Acosta-Denis on January 6, 1939, in Havana, Cuba. In 1962, he married the love of his life, Caridad Acosta-Zabala. Together, they built a life in Havana, Cuba before relocating to Miami, Florida in 1967, where they continued to grow their family and future.

In Cuba, Rogelio worked for Los Omnibus Aliados, and also owned a bar alongside his father. After moving to the United States, he continued his entrepreneurial spirit as a self-employed business owner until retirement.

Above all, Rogelio was a devoted family man. He found great joy in being out on his boat, spear fishing, and spending time in the Florida Keys. His happiest moments were those shared with his family. A simple pleasure that always brought him joy was savoring his favorite dessert—key lime pie.

Rogelio is survived by his wife, Caridad, and his three children, Roger Acosta of Savannah, Barbara Medina of Hialeah, and Robert (Christine) Acosta of Miami. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Sixto (Noelia), Barby (Dennis), Michelle (Charlie), Roger Lee, Dylan, Veronica, Connor and Caitlin, and seven great grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1 from 6-10 pm. at Vista Funeral Home. The burial will be held at 10am on Thursday April 2 at Vista Memorial Gardens cemetery.
