In Loving Memory

Ramón L. Arronte

10/18/1938-10/3/2021

Ramón L. Arronte, 82, of Pinar del Río, Cuba and Miami, F lorida by way of New York, New York, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 3, 2021, in Miami, Florida.

We all knew him by many names. Monguito. El Arquitecto. El Maestro. Pops . Cusi . It didn't matter which nam e we used to address him, though. Once you met him, you could be sure that he would touch your heart with his kindness, impress you with his intelligence , and take your breath away with his amazing musical talent . His stories, which he loved to tell us all, would leave their indelible mark on us, because we knew that each and every one of them was true.

Born in Pinar del Río, Cuba on October 18, 1938 to Ramón Arronte and Mireya Quintero , Monguito, as so man y knew him, proved to be a force of nature early on in his life. He excelled at many things growing up, especially playing the piano , and playing basketball . He left his beloved Cuba behind in 1960 to make a better life for himself and for his family in the United States, finding his way to New York, and working three jobs in order to bring the rest of the family over. After starting his own family over the course of nearly 10 years, he made the move from New York, New York to Miami, Florida, where he continued working hard, nurturing his family, and studying to become the architect whose work is still present throughout the city. He also never stopped playing the piano, much to the delight of so many who were lucky enough to hear him at a party, in a restaurant, or at any other place where he had the chance to tickle the ivories.

Monguito will be remembered loving ly by all who knew him, including his wife, Telia, his children, Ramón Juan ( Ray ) , Jorge (Tata) and Eva (Cookie), his stepdaughter Lisbet, and his brothers, Miguelo and Julian, as well as his grandchildren, Stephanie and Joshua, and his great-granddaughter, Marina.

Condolences to the family can be shared via the online guestbook
