Odalys Lago

Odalys Lago passed away on Monday, November 28th at the age of 62. She was surrounded by her beloved family.

Odalys was born to Orlando Lago and Maria Estela Travieso Lago in Havana, Cuba and spent her early childhood in Guanajay, Pinar del Rio before moving to Miami, Florida with her sister, brother, and parents at the age of eight.

She enjoyed reading, architecture, history, nature, travel, and loved learning. Her life long passion in design and the arts led her to get a degree in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. She also loved spending time with her family. She often spent her days enjoying time with her beloved grandchildren, Francesco and Patrick, exploring the natural world and developing their love of learning. She had an indomitable spirit that always rose above any challenge that she faced. She was a true example of strength and fortitude. Her love for her family was always her guiding light.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Estela. Odalys is survived by her father, Orlando, daughters, Melissa and Amanda, her siblings Marysela, Orlando, and sister-in-law, Iliana, grandchildren Francesco and Patrick, son-in-law, Frankie, nephews, Nelson and Orly, and nieces, Jessica and Aime, and many cherished grandnieces and grandnephews.

There will be a celebration of life on December 5th at 9:30 am at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
