Miguel Perez

Mr. Miguel "Manuel" Perez died peacefully on November 13, 2016 in Miami Lakes, FL at the age of 84.
Miguel is survived by his sister, Estrella Perez in Florida; his brother Julio Perez in Cuba; his children, Martha Lerner in Florida and Miguel A. Perez in Puerto Rico. He is preceded in death by his wife Martha Perez, his parents Argelia Castillo Loyola and Miguel Perez Martin, and his siblings Matilde Perez and Genivera Perez.
Miguel was born on December 8, 1931 in Santa Lucia, Cuba to Argelia Castillo Loyola and Miguel Perez Martin. He came to this country chasing a dream and willing to work hard. He married Martha Jorge on May 29, 1971. He began working for Pepsi Cola as a driver and rose through the ranks, and worked there for over 30 years. The couple welcomed 2 children into their home and Miguel set about teaching them the value of perseverance and hard work. His children remember him as a driven father who always worked hard to provide everything possible for his family.
Miguel was a generous individual who loved helping out his fellow Cubans and helped many a new immigrant find a job here and start their lives in this country. He was an active and dedicated member of the Club de Cabaiguan and the Miami Outboard Club and spent many years enjoying the ocean with his family on his boat.
A funeral is scheduled for November 16, 2016 at 2:00pm at Flagler Memorial Park in Miami, with a reception to follow at his home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Miguel's life. The family would like to thank Estrella Perez for her efforts, care, patience and dedication to him for the past 15 years.
