Mercedes Moreira

Mercedes Ventura Moreira, 64, of Hialeah, Florida, became an angel in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, November 1, 2021.

She was born to Felix and Zoila Ventura on February 19, 1957 in Havana, Cuba. Mercy graduated from Miami Dade College - Medical Campus and received her Associate's Degree in Medical Technology in 1979. She married Justo Manuel Moreira in 1977 and they lived together in Palm Springs North for 42 years.

Mercy was a medical technologist who chose to stay home to raise her four sons. When they were older she worked at their schools over the years, touching the lives of many students over the years as a preschool teacher, volunteer listener, and librarian assistant, at Horeb Christian School, Florida Bible Christian School, and Palm Springs North Elementary School.

Over her life, Mercy was an active member of West Hialeah Baptist Church where she met her future husband, Northwest Spanish Baptist Church, New Testament Baptist Church, and Elevate Church Miami Lakes.

Mercy loved to travel, taking over 10 cruise trips and hundreds of road trips, cross-country flights, and beach trips over her lifetime. In the Summer, she loved to spend time in the ocean and collect seashells on the West Coast, and in the Fall, she loved to visit the Blue Ridge Mountains to see the beautiful fall colors. Her hobbies were spending time with her 8 grandchildren, shopping, arts & crafts, and she was a legendary coffee connoisseur.

Mercy is survived by her beloved husband Justo "Manny" Manuel Moreira; four sons Josue, Joel, Jonathan, and Joseph, and their wives Janelle, Christina, Madeline, and Sara; and eight grandchildren, Josiah, Jacob, Jesus, Josue, James, John, Lucas, and Rose.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8 ^th from 5-11pm. at Vista Funeral Home, 14200 NW 57 ^th Avenue, Miami Lakes, FL 33014, (305) 821-1421, with a service to be held at 7:30 p.m. that evening.

A Christian memorial and burial immediately following will take place on Tuesday, November 9 ^th , 2021 at 11:30 a.m.
