Matilde Caridad Sherlock

Matilde Caridad Sherlock, a beacon of happiness who just celebrated her 94th birthday, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep. Born in the beautiful Varadero, Cuba on March 9, 1928 to Consuelo and Carlos Bande. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Sherlock; two sisters,
Mercedes Perez and Carmen Bande; one brother, Ignacio Bande; and many nieces and nephews. She lived in Bay Harbor Isles, North Miami, and Tamarac for many years surrounded by love from supportive family and neighbors. She came to the United States in 1957 and lived in
Chicago, IL before coming to Florida with her mother, father, and niece, Lourdes Johannson. She was nurturing and kind, an honorary grandmother to many, and was lovingly known as "Nana" to friends who had children. She loved to travel and spent many wonderful years going on cruises, traveling around the country, and spending time with cherished friends at her timeshare in Marathon, Florida. She was an excellent cook and a caring soul who took great pride in her home and loved hosting friends! She was also a beloved caregiver to her mother and her husband's grandmother until their day of passing. Matilde was adored by many and will be dearly missed by family and friends, especially her devoted husband, Tom.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Vista Memorial Gardens 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014. (305) 330-1496. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at 2:00 p.m.
