Mary C. Varela Witham

During the evening of October 21st, 2024, Mary C. Varela Witham went to be with the Lord. Mary came to the United States from Cuba in 1955 at the age of 7 years old. Mary and her father Jose "Pepe" Varela, mother Candida Raquel Varela, and sister Norma Parron, made their residence in Hialeah Florida where she excelled in drafting and architecture. Ultimately, Mary earned a degree in Architecture from Florida Atlantic University. She met her first husband Salvador Mora and gave birth to Erica & Matthew Mora. Later in life, she separated, and year later remarried to Mark Witham, who together gave birth to Kelly Witham.

Mary worked for Florida International University for 30 years, before her retirement. Mary traveled the world and made friends everywhere she went due to her unmistakable & effervescent, personality. Mary is survived by her oldest daughter Erica Mora Granino, her son Matthew Varela Mora, and her youngest daughter Kelly Witham-Perez. Along with her grandchildren David Clark, Jacob Perez, Brooklyn Granino, Everly Perez, Aubrey Granino, and Noah Matthew Perez. Mary's entire family is very grateful for the thoughts, prayers, and well wishes from all that knew her.

The family has decided on a service at Vista Memorial Gardens located at 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 between 6PM and 10PM.

The burial service will be held on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 at 11AM.
