Martha Carol Hinton of Key Largo, Florida passed away on June 14, 2020. Born on August 25 th 1930, she was 89 years old. Her parents were Carl and Mabel Van Landingham of Miami Florida where she grew up. Her husband Howard Sr. and son Howard Jr. predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Hinton-Marti, her son Van Chesnutt, her son Howard's wife Terry Hinton, and her grandchildren, Marisa Slaff, Maria Silva, Marcos Marti, Heather Hinton and Stephen Taggart. Prior to moving to Key Largo when Howard Sr. retired, she lived in Miami proper (where she was born), Hialeah and Miami Springs, Florida.

Carol was active in the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department, VNA/Hospice and the Wild Bird Sanctuary. Carol loved animals, not only her own but the foster cats she took in until homes could be found for them. She was also a supporter of the Marvelous Pet Rescue organization.

Carol had a good sense of humor and often did not have many filters so she was often quite matter-of-fact and to the point.

She will be missed. Please keep her family in prayer during this difficult time.

Due to the current pandemic, no services are planned at this time. Any contributions to her causes, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department, Marvelous Pet Rescue or the Wild Bird Sanctuary, all of Key Largo, she would appreciate.
