Obituary

Maria M Guindin, (aka Mary to her friends and family, and Dita/Abuela to the grandkids) at the age of 86, passed away peacefully in her home on May 26, 2026 in the city of Miami, Florida.

Born on October 10, 1939, in Yauco, Puerto Rico. Maria was the beloved daughter of Fransico Antonio Sepulveda and Elena Rosado Sepulveda. She grew up in the mountains of Yauco and when she was 13 yrs old the family moved to Hialeah, Florida, where she went to school and worked at a restaurant in Downtown Miami. And this is where she met her husband Alberto and they had a daughter Rose and a son Jose. Then Maria’s sister Annie convinced her to work at Hialeah Hospital where she became a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit for 28 years. After her daughter Rose started attending Bible College, Maria turned her life over to God. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Miami Gardens and lived there for 44 years with a life centered on God and Family. She retired to help her mother and husband and was always cooking, including feeding the neighbors.

Maria was loved by everyone she encountered. Maria loved being with family and cooking; it seemed to be her calling in life. If you knew Maria, you knew she was one of the most hospitable person ever. Her laugh was contagious and made everyone feel welcomed. The most noticeable characteristic of Maria was her love for the LORD and faithfulness to the Baptist Church. Maria is with Jesus and will be missed by many

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sights of the Lord is the death of his saints.

Mary Guindin was a member of North Hialeah Baptist Church for many years. She drove to church as long as she could, then volunteers provided transportation. She loved attending church and Bible study for all the regular services and special events. She was Honored on Mother’s Day for being the Oldest Mother at church in 2022 thru 2026.

Maria is survived by her grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Jenna, Tyler and Daniel. Also, her loving brother Joe and her sisters Emma and Blanka. Her daughter-in-law, Patricia and numerous nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister Annie, and her husband Alberto, her daughter Rose and her son Jose.
