Maria V. Alicea, of Hialeah, Florida, died Sunday, February 1st, 2026 with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Pio and Romeda Colon on July 8, 1933 in Cayey, Puerto Rico.
She married Antonio Alicea in 1956 in New York City. They started their family and moved to Richmond Hill, New York in 1968. In 1979, they relocated to Hialeah, Florida.
Maria was a talented Seamstress until she retired in 1989. She was an active member of The Immaculate Conception Church in Hialeah. She served as a Eucharistic Minister since 1997. She was a member of the Evangelizacion, El Taller de Oracion and Maria Auxiliadora and The Golden Age Group (Edad de Oro).
Maria is survived by her husband of 70 years, Antonio Alicea, her daughters, Mildred Gonzalez and Migdalia Coubertier. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Adam Coubertier, Samantha Coubertier and Pablo Gonzalez.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 13th from 6pm -10pm at Vista Funeral Home in Miami Lakes.
A Catholic Burial Mass will be held at 10am, Monday, February 16th at The Immaculate Conception Church with burial immediately following at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Doral.
