Marcial Montenegro
September 11, 1938 – April 22, 2026
Marcial “Monty” Montenegro, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away quietly on Thursday April 22, 2026. He was born September, 11, 1938 in Havana, Cuba, son of the late Carlos & Digna Montenegro, and one of six siblings. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Marina Montenegro and his children Marcial Jesus (Lori), Betty (Jim); 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason (Lacey), Jeremy (Ashley) & Joel; 3 great grandchildren, Evan, Jovie, Tony. He was a man who loved laughter, eating, dancing, photography, bowling and mostly celebrating his family who were his pride and joy. If anyone knew Monty for a few minutes, they would quickly be aware of immense passion for accounting and being an income tax practitioner. And when all the other hobbies or interests faded, his love for accounting never did.
Though not many know it, he was a generous man. He was an accountant by trade and through and through, so he managed his finances well and was frugal - but make no mistake, he was generous. He was a man of integrity and faith. He was affectionate, romantic and as mentioned, he and Marina loved celebrating their family, attending every party, milestone and always ready with an invitation to a restaurant in order to celebrate.
He was strong-willed and quite the character; he loved hard and fought hard.
Papi, Abuelo, we will miss you forever and cannot wait to see you again in Heaven.
