Luz Dary Peña, 72, of Homestead Florida, passed away Thursday February 22nd 2024.
She was born to the late Rafael and Rose Gomez on February 21st, 1952 in Riosucio Caldas, Colombia. She married Yuly Pena on June 16, 1983 and was happily married for almost 42 years.
She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She participated in as many clubs as she possibly could within her church community along with her husband for many years. They often spent hours reading the Bible and loved to share the word of God with anyone who needed it.
One of her favorite hobbies was growing her garden. You can say she had a natural green thumb. She had all sorts of fruits, vegetables, and plants. She was so proud of growing her own spices and vegetables and would use them often to prepare her personal recipes. Family was everything for her. Even when times were tough nothing stopped her from preparing her family's favorite meals. She did whatever it took to make her family happy.
Luz is survived by her daughters Viviana Santibanez and Elizabeth Ayala Gomez. She also is survived by 6 grandchildren; Kimberly Solari (who she raised as her own along with her husband), Jose Solari, Alejandro Santibanez, Tiffany Mendoza, Natalie Santibanez, and Andres Santibanez. She also has two great-grandchildren; Gabriel Solari and Maelani Solari.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7th from 8AM-1PM at Vista Funeral Home with a Seventh Day Adventist Church service to begin at 11AM-12:30PM. The procession will depart the funeral home no later than 1:15 pm to Flagler Memorial Park where burial services will take place from 2:00 pm t0 2:40 pm.
