Luisa Baranda passed away Saturday October 2, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born on June 21, 1939, in Havana, Cuba to Gonzalo and Benicia Collado. She graduated high school from el Instituto de la Vibora and continued her studies at la Universidad de la Habana studying Philosophy and Literature. Shortly thereafter, she met her husband, Froidan (Floro) Baranda, at Partagas Cigars. They married on February 14, 1964 and as a result of the Cuban revolution, they flew to Miami in 1967 on one of the historic Freedom Flights.
Tita (as she was affectionately known by all) built her life in Hialeah, FL alongside her loving husband of 57 years and loved to dote on her daughters and her grandchildren. She was a very special, extremely kind and loving person who lived her life as a faithful Catholic, with a devout fidelity to the Divine Mercy.
She was preceded in death by her father Gonzalo, and her sister Rosa. She is survived by her dear husband, Floro; her two daughters Mercy (Javier) and Isabelle (James); her grandchildren (Gonzalo and Gabriella ~ Edwin, Jack and Tyler); her mother Benicia; her brothers Gonzalo (Margarita), Miguel (Cristina) and Elio; and many nieces and nephews.
Tita will be forever remembered in the hearts of so many and the love that she shared will be the inspiration for each new day.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 9 th , 10:00am - 1:00pm, and interment immediately following at 1:30pm. Both at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Avenue, Miami Lakes, FL 33014 .

Luisa Baranda falleció el sábado 2 de Octubre 2021 a la edad de 82 años. Nació el 21 de Junio del 1939 en La Habana, Cuba, hija de Gonzalo y Benicia Collado. Se graduó de bachiller en el Instituto de la Víbora y continuo sus estudios en la Universidad de la Habana, estudiando Filosofía y Letras. Poco después conoció a sus esposos, Froidan (Floro) Baranda, en la compañía de tabaco, Partagas. Se casaron el 14 de Febrero del 1964 y como resultado de la revolución cubana, se exiliaron a Miami en el 1967 a través de Los Vuelos de la Libertad.
Tita (como era cariñosamente conocida) construyó su vida en Hialeah, FL junto a su esposo de 57 años y adoraba a sus hijas y sus nietos. Fue una persona muy amable y cariñosa que vivió su vida como una fiel católica y era devota a Jesus de la Misericordia.
Le precedieron en la muerte su padre Gonzalo y su hermana Rosa. Le sobreviven su esposo, Floro; sus dos hijas Mercy (Javier) e Isabelle (James); sus nietos (Gonzalo y Gabriella ~ Edwin, Jack y Tyler); su madre Benicia, sus hermanos Gonzalo (Margarita), Miguel (Cristina) y Elio; y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos.
Tita siempre será recordada en los corazones de todos y el amor que compartió será la inspiración para cada día nuevo.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el sábado 9 de Octubre, de 10:00am a 1:00pm y el entierro inmediatamente después a la 1:30pm, ambos en Vista Memorial Garden, 14200 NW 57th Avenue, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
