It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lidia Lavandeira, our beloved mother, at the age of 91. Lidia was not only a remarkable wife but also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She peacefully departed on January 15, 2024, surrounded by her family.
In 1961, Lidia embarked on a new chapter in the United States from Cuba, alongside the love of her life, Ricardo, and their infant daughter Iraida. Together, they expanded their family with the additions of Ricardo, David, and Danny. Lidia's unwavering commitment to her family always took precedence, making her a loving and devoted wife.
Throughout most of her life, Lidia worked as a skilled seamstress, later dedicating herself to caring for her numerous grandchildren. Her passions included knitting and traveling the world. Lidia leaves behind a legacy cherished by her surviving children (Iraida, Ricardo, David, and Danny), grandchildren (Sandra, Monica, Luis, Kimberly, Kellie, Richard, Antoinette, and David), and great-grandchildren (Jonathan, Christian, Liza, Isabella, and Angelina). May her memory live on in the hearts of those she touched.
