Leesa Kay Romero

Leesa K. Romero of Miami Lakes, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24,
2023, with her spouse by her side.
Leesa K Romero was born to Larry and Doris Lucas on July 17, 1963, in
Cincinnati, OH. She was the eldest sibling of her two brother James A. Lucas
and Jon D. Lucas. Through out her years Leesa graduated from Calvary
Christian School, Taylor Mill, KY in 1981. She attended Liberty University in
1981 and 1982 where she met her future husband, Oswaldo Romero Jr., whom
she later married in 2000 and relocated to South Florida, where they have
resided since.
Leesa was a bookkeeper and office manager for several small family-owned
businesses, both in Cincinnati and South Florida where she was always
considered a member of the family. She developed an interest in arts and crafts
and was always creating things for the children of family, friends and even her
neighbors. Her capacity to bring joy to others was surpassed only by her ability
to comfort and inspire others, especially in the last few years of her life.
Leesa has been a member or Calvary Baptist Church, Latonia, KY and attended
services at several local churches in South Florida, including New Testament
Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church.
Leesa is survived by her spouse, Oswaldo Romero Jr., parents, Larry and Doris
Lucas of Independence, KY and brothers, James A. Lucas of St. Petersburg, FL,
and Jon D. Lucas of Ft. Wright, KY. She also is survived by aunts, uncles and
numerous nieces and nephews both in Kentucky and Florida.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 31 st from 6-10 p.m. at Vista Funeral
Home, 5755 NW 142 Street, Miami Lakes, FL 33014. A celebration will be held
on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 12:30pm at New Testament Baptist Church,
6601 NW 167 Street, Hialeah, FL 33015 with burial immediately following at Vista
Memorial Gardens.
