Lawrence (Larry) Treadwell Weeks Jr.

Lawrence "Larry" Treadwell Weeks Jr. went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2021 at the age of 82. Larry was born on March 1, 1939, to Lawrence and Dorothy Weeks in Thomaston, Connecticut. After high school, Larry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959.  He met the love of his life (Rose M. Pyka) while stationed in Opa Locka, Florida.  They were married at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hialeah, Florida on January 11, 1958. Upon his release from active duty in the Marines, Larry and Rose moved up to Connecticut.  After a few years in Thomaston, Connecticut, they moved back to Hialeah, Florida with their 3 young boys (Larry III , Ray and Tom).  In the next few years, they had 3 more children (Theresa, Dorothy & Joe).  After working various jobs, Larry became a machinist for Eastern Airlines.  He was a member of and served the community with the Knights of Columbus.  He also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  He was an avid bowler and loved looking for golf balls in the lakes while playing golf.

Larry was survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rose (Pyka) Weeks.  His 6 children and their spouses – Larry III (Terrie), Ray, Tom (Carmen), Theresa Ore (Johnny), Dorothy Matheis (John) and Joe (MeLisa).  Larry had 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.   He was also survived by his younger brother Robert Weeks (Liz) of Thomaston, Connecticut.
