Kathleen Verona Morrison Fisher was born in Jamaica to Gerald
Morrison and Albertha Johnson on March 13, 1936. She is the
first of the 6 children. She cared for and loved her siblings. Many
friends, relatives, and neighbors can attest to the compassion and
kindness of Kathleen. In the 1970's, Kathleen, her husband
Sterling Fisher and their 5 daughters, emigrated to the United
States. She worked as a Beautician in Jamaica then enrolled in
Nursing School in America and earned a Certified Nursing
Assistant degree. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, expert gardener, choir member, "life of the
party", woman of God, member of MGC Worship Center. She
cared for many sick/elderly people in their homes/nursing homes,
she gave, she blessed, she prayed for, she housed, she was
always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Kathleen "Sister Fisher" was devout Christian who dedicated her
life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While attending Harbor
View Gospel Chapel in Jamaica, she served on the choir and her
passion was gardening. The "cutlass" story: On Saturdays, she
walked through the riverbed to church with a cutlass that she
used as a gardening tool to cultivate the church's garden.
Kathleen was well-known for having a "Green Thumb." She would
minister and share the Gospel with anyone she met on her way to
and from the church. Her mission: Go into the world, preach the
Gospel and lead others to Christ.
For over 40 years, Kathleen "Sister Fisher" was a dedicated
member and integral part MGC Worship Center in Miami, Florida.
She remained faithful singing in the choir, faithful in attending
bible study and meetings, faithful in visiting and caring for the sick
/elderly members in their homes, faithful in ministering and
sharing the Gospel with those little Bible tracts she always carried
in her purse, faithful in praying for family, friends, the community
and wisdom for our world leaders, faithful in volunteering at
church events; cleaning, gardening, serving and being the "life of
the party." She enjoyed the simple life: Loving her family, tending
to the garden, volunteering in the church, and caring for others.
Kathleen/ Mama /Sister Fisher was adored by all and will live in
our hearts forever.
