Julian R. Rodriguez, M.D.

Dr. Julian Rafael Rodriguez, 84, of Miami Lakes, Florida, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, January 24, 2022 surrounded by his family.


He was born to the late Heriberto and Olivia Rodriguez, on April 11, 1937 in Cienfuegos, Cuba. Julian attended Marist School and earned a medical degree from the University of Havana. After graduating in 1965, he practiced medicine in Cuba and Hialeah, Florida. He led a blessed life which allowed him to serve his church community of St. Benedict and patients as a servant leader. Julian was bestowed with the gifts of: listening, empathy, healing, and stewardship which allowed him to fulfill his role as a friend, mentor and doctor for over 50 years. Although he was a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes to those who witnessed his generosity and compassion throughout the years. He will be greatly missed.


Julian will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of sixty years Zoila (Loly); daughters, Zoila Lebo and husband William and Sara Othon and husband Alexander; grandchildren, Kathryn Lebo, Hunter Lebo, Lauren Othon, Carolina Othon, and Juliette Othon; siblings, Luisa Guerra, Heriberto Rodriguez and wife Sylvia; sister in law, Angela Carnero; and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church at a later date.
