Juan Emilio Izquierdo Jr., 21, of Miami Lakes, died July 2, 2014, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born September 23, 1992 in Miami, the son of Juan Izquierdo and Sherrie Deal and David and Star Rodriguez. He attended Miami Lakes Educational Center and graduated in 2011 as a Cisco Certified Network Associate. He was currently enrolled at Miami Dade College and MLEC working toward a degree in Information Technology and additional Cisco Networking certification. While attending college, Juan also worked for Smart Business Technology International in Miami Lakes and POW A International of South Florida. In addition to his parents, Juan is survived by his brothers Cedric Izquierdo and Julian Rodriguez and sisters Rojina Izquierdo and Clarissa Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Emilio and Elena Izquierdo of Miami and grandparents Rigoberto and Amparo Rodriguez of Hialeah. All, including his work family at Smart Business Technology, will deeply miss him. Juan, an avid fitness buff, enjoyed being in the company of friends and family, as well as working out, hiking, Scouting, fishing, and soaking up the sun at the beaches of South Florida. He recently completed an adventurous weeklong trek through the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina with eight other fellow Scouts. Alongside his school, work and outdoor activities, Juan was closely tied to the deaf and hearing impaired programs at Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. Juan was proficient at both signing and reading lips and offered and received much support from the local deaf and hearing impaired community. Juan's captivating smile, determined spirit, burning ambition, and love of life will be missed by all who knew him. One of his favorite quotes, "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory," by Dr. Seuss, perfectly describes this intelligent, thoughtful and remarkable young man. A memorial service will be held at Vista Memorial, 14200 NW 57 Avenue, Miami Lakes, FL from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014. All are welcome.
