Josefa Caramatti

Josefa Epifana Caramatti died September 25th, 2019 in Hialeah, FL at her daughter's home. She was born May 7th, 1922 in Zaza del Medio, Cuba to Pedro Martin and Maria Guarin. She was the oldest of 5 children  and was the last surviving child. Her father owned a tobacco business where they lived in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba and all five children worked for the business rolling handmade Cuban cigars. At age 18 she earned her seamstress license and enjoyed sewing for family, friends and clients for many years. She married Decimo Caramatti (deceased) in 1956, who she said was a handsome Italian man, where they meet in Miami Beach. Together they had  two children. Josefa is survived by her daughters, Gina Melgarejo (Gabriel) and Norma Kuruc (Raymond). Also 5 grand children, Jessica Cespedes (David), Aldo Melgarejo, Raymond Kuruc Jr., Sandra Kuruc and Laura Kuruc. As well as 2 great-grand children, Eva and Viviana Cespedes. A repast will follow after the burial service.
