Jose Arquimedes Perez (AKA "Arqui")

Jose returned to the Father on the morning of September 9th, 2022, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Jose (Arqui or Abu to his family) was a shining example of kindness, generosity, perseverance, strong work ethic, and humility for all who knew him. He was considered by all as a "true gentleman". Born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, he attended medical school in Havana until the Revolution forced closure of the university. With his wife Freya, daughter Vivian, and son Carlos he courageously travelled to Spain in 1966, then to New Jersey, and eventually to South Florida. Jose first worked in factories in New Jersey to support his family, and later began his career in the shipping industry, culminating in his role as Vice President of Finance and co-owner of Sea freight Agencies. He is survived by his brother Alberto (Poti), his daughter Vivian, his son Carlos, and 6 grandchildren: Julian, Christopher, Emily, Ethan, Isabella, and Aidan. He was predeceased by his 7th grandchild Charlotte, with whom he is now rejoicing in heaven. His beloved wife Freya of 62 years passed on to eternal life on September 24th, 2022, just 15 days after Jose's death. They are now reunited and basking in God's glory.
