John Joseph Fuertes

Fuertes, John Joseph John passed away on Friday, September 18. John was born in New York, New York, on April 19, 1930. He spent his childhood in Puerto Rico and Cuba, and lived his entire adult life in Miami Gardens. He enjoyed seafood, fishing, and sitting outside in the Miami heat. He had a soft spot for animals, and fed many strays. He proudly served abroad in the U.S. Army, and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 349, where he worked as an electrician and was affectionately referred to as "CC". John is preceded in death by his Mother, Ada, his father, Juan Jose, his sisters, Carmen and Ada, his brothers, Alberto and Carlos, his daughter, Diane, and his grandson, Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maria Benci Fuertes, son, John (Deborah), granddaughter, Nicole Walker (David), grandson, Chi, and great-grandchildren, Tristan and Zoe. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57 Avenue, Miami Lakes.
