Jacqueline M. Irza, 81, of Miami, FL, passed away December 17, 2013. She was born and raised in Providence, RI. She attended Hope High School and later graduated from the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She met her loving husband John while he was in the Navy. They wed in 1955 and moved to Miami where they have lived ever since. They were married for 58 years. She earned her B.S. Degree in Business Administration and later her Masters Degree in Psychology at Biscayne College (St. Thomas University). She loved being a nurse and worked at North Shore Hospital, North Miami General Hospital, and was head infirmary nurse at Biscayne College. She later worked at Catholic Hospice of Miami until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, cooking, and baking. She loved being a girl scout leader when her daughter was young. She loved camping in the Smokey Mountains with her family. She loved spending time with her grandson Patrick. She especially loved family reunions at the Grand Canyon, Florida Keys, and Disney World.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lars and Marie Wicklund and her sister Nancy Rieck. She is survived by her loving husband John; son Jeffrey (Beth); and daughter Joanne O'Connor(John) and grandson Patrick of Arizona; sisters Mrs. Janette Arciero (RI), Mrs. Beverly Cannity (RI), Mrs. Elizabeth Ervin (Robert) TX; brother-in-law Mr. Francis Irza (FL) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed and remain forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Ave., Miami Lakes, FL on Jan. 3, 2014 from 6-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4497 W 1st Ave, Hialeah, FL on Jan.4, 2014, at 9 AM with burial to follow at Vista Memorial Gardens.
