Indiana Perez

Indiana María Canela-Pérez, born on October 11, 1930, in the Dominican Republic, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, at the age of 94.

As a devoted Catholic, Indiana lived her life guided by unwavering faith and a deep commitment to her community and church. Her selflessness and compassion touched countless lives as she spent her days volunteering, offering prayers, and sharing kind words. She was a beacon of humility and love, embodying the true essence of service until her final moments.

Indiana is survived by her three children: Renzo García, her only son; Loyda García, her devoted daughter; and Sardis Canela, her youngest daughter, who lovingly cared for her with immense dedication until her final days. She leaves behind a legacy of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who carry forward her values, wisdom, and enduring kindness.

Indiana's presence was a source of comfort and inspiration. Her laughter filled every room, her gentle words uplifted every spirit, and her love was felt by all who knew her. She had a unique way of making everyone feel valued, reminding us of the importance of faith, compassion, and resilience.

Although Indiana has left this world, her spirit will live on in the traditions she cherished, the lives she touched, and the memories her family and friends hold dear. Her light will continue to shine brightly in all who were privileged to know her.

Indiana has now been reunited with her Creator, whom she served so faithfully throughout her life. Her family and loved ones take solace in knowing she is at peace.

A remembrance of Indiana's life will be held at  Vista Memorial Funeral Home Miami Lakes, Florida on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 from 6:30PM to 10:00PM. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 To begin at 12:00 PM Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church Miami Lakes, Florida. Followed by the burial at Vista Memorial Gardens.

Indiana María Canela-Pérez will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God. May she rest in eternal peace.
