Helen Marie (Rizan) Williams, age 94, passed away on March 11, 2026, in
Hialeah, Florida, where she had lived since 1953.
Helen was born on January 2, 1932, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Henry J. Rizan
and Helen (Thompson) Rizan. She was the youngest of four children and
grew up with her three brothers, Henry Jr., James, and Philip. She was
baptized into the Roman Catholic Church on January 7, 1932.
On August 25, 1951, Helen married Air Force Staff Sergeant Hamilton
Navarro “Buddy” Williams of Key West, Florida, whom she met while working
at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. One year later, on their
first wedding anniversary, Helen and Buddy welcomed their first son, Michael
Lawrence Williams. Their family later grew with the births of Christopher in
1959, Patrick in 1962, and Gregory in 1971.
Helen and her family made their home in Hialeah, where she devoted herself
to raising her children and building a loving home. After being widowed on
August 3, 1979, Helen chose not to remarry, dedicating her life to caring for
her sons and later helping with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and
generously volunteered her time there. Helen loved traveling and especially
enjoyed returning to Texas to visit family. She also cherished traveling with
family and friends—whether skiing in Colorado, taking Caribbean and
Alaskan cruises, or enjoying road trips across the United States.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton Navarro “Buddy”
Williams, and her eldest son, Michael Lawrence Williams.
She is survived by her three sons, Christopher, Patrick, and Gregory Williams,
along with nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and
extended family members.
A Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 4497 W 1st
Ave., Hialeah, FL. 33012 at 11:30 AM on Monday, March 30, 2026, with
burial to follow at Vista Memorial Gardens 14200 NW 57th Ave., Miami Lakes,
FL. 33014 (305) 821-4121 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate.
Helen will be remembered for her deep faith, devotion to family, generous
spirit, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
