Our beloved Grisel Perez, of Hialeah, Florida, passed away on September 26, 2026.

Born on August 25, 1952, Grisel dedicated her career to social work and was known for her compassion, warmth, and larger-than-life personality. She was funny, outspoken, and full of life, with a presence that could fill any room.

Grisel had an especially generous and caring heart. She was always there for the people she loved and devoted much of herself to caring for family and friends. Taking care of others came naturally to her, and she had a gift for making people feel supported, loved, and never alone.

Above all, Grisel loved her family and friends deeply. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, compassion, infectious sense of humor, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.

She is survived by her beloved son, Marcelo Vila Jr.; her cherished grandson, Dean Vila; and her brother, Oscar Perez.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Grisel’s life at St. Benedict Catholic Church, located at 701 W. 77th St., Hialeah, FL 33014, on Thursday, October 8, at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Vista Memorial Gardens, located at 14200 NW 57th Ave., Miami Lakes, FL 33014.

Her memory will live on through the family she loved, the laughter she brought into so many lives, and the many people she cared for along the way.’
