Gregoria Serrano Rodriquez

Gregoria Serrano Rodriquez, 91, of Miramar Florida, passed on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 surrounded by her family. Gregoria was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on May 12, 1933 to the late Santo Rodriquez and Teresa Serrano.

She lived in Humacao, Puerto Rico until she was about 17 years old. She relocated to New York City to live with her family. A few years later she married Luis Velez and had a daughter, Sylvia Velez.

She worked in the diamond district of New York City, where she became a master jeweler. She worked for over 25 years in mid-town Manhattan. While Illness forced her to retire she continue being active caring for only grandson Mitchell Christian Correa.

She enjoyed caring for her grandson and daughter with whom she eventually lived.

She loved to cook, was a passionate baseball fan and loved telenovelas.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Correa Gonzalez, grandson, Mitchell Correa, sisters, Andrea Delgado and Georgina Cajigas and nieces and nephew

A celebration of life will be held at Vista Memorial Funeral home Monday, 17th of February from 6-10 pm. Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 18th at 9:30 am same location.
