Gloria Malcolm Shrote

Gloria Malcolm Shrote, 82, of Miami Gardens, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 peacefully in her home. She was born to the late Boyce and Fern Malcolm on November 16,1940 in Miami, Florida. Gloria graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1958 where she was a member of the National Honor Society (English and Spanish), TIMES representative, Little Women, Wheel Club Sponsor, Stars of Tomorrow, Wellesly Book Award, Home Room Secretary, Treasurer and Cheerleading Squad. Gloria received a full ride scholarship to Wellesley College. She married the late Robert Shrote in 1961, in Miami, Florida.

Gloria was an extraordinary mother and loved her children fiercely. On top of raising four kids, she also worked at Southern Bell as a Customer Service representative for their legal department for 30 years.

Gloria is survived by her children Robert Shrote, of Miami; Kenneth Shrote, of California; Scott Shrote and Beverly Baril-Hartley, of West Palm Beach; Angela Shrote, of Orlando and Bobbi Jo Nugent, of Miami. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Nathan (Stephanie) Shrote, of Washington; Cassandra Shrote, of California; Tiffany (Josh) Humphreys, of Tennessee; Kendal Shrote, of North Carolina; Kyle Shrote, of Orlando; and Kelly Shrote of Orlando as well as her four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 6th from 11am-1:45pm at Vista Funeral Home. Immediately following at 2 pm, will be the processional to Vista Memorial Gardens at the House of God III.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
