Gliceria Alfonso Cardenas, a beloved resident of Hialeah, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of 87.

She was born in Cuba on May 13, 1939, to Reinaldo Alfonso and Concepcion Gonzalez. Gliceria was a woman of great faith, strength, and character, whose life was defined by her devotion to her family and her unwavering beliefs.

In 1970, Gliceria, along with her husband and their two sons, left Cuba and came into exile in the United States in search of freedom and a better future for their family. She made Hialeah, Florida, her home and remained there until her passing.

Gliceria will be remembered for her deep faith, loving heart, resilience, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and loved ones.

She is survived by her sons Jesus and Reynaldo Cardenas, their spouses Rachael and Shelba Cardenas as well as her grandchildren Julia, Sydney, Jimmel and Benjamin.She will always be remembered as a self giving wife, mother and grandmother who was loving and nurturing to her family.
