Gladys M Giz

Gladys M. Giz of Miami Lakes, Florida, passed away peacefully at the Miramar Memorial West
Hospital at the age of 91 on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Born on January 28, 1934, she was the youngest of nine children of Pedro Hernandez and
Pastora Ramiro.
She was born in Florida Camaguey, and moved to Havana with her oldest sister Emma and her
daughter Grisell. There she met the love of her life, Andres Giz, her husband of 65 years.
In April 1966, she immigrated to the United States with her two daughters Grisell and Gladys to
reunite with her husband. They worked hard side by side to establish themselves in this
country. They lived in Paterson, New Jersey, and later on in 1977 reallocated to Miami, Florida.
They enjoyed life to the fullest, travelling to Europe and moved for two years to the northern part
of Spain with their daughter Gladys to fulfill a lifelong dream. They returned to Miami and have
been living here ever since.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Her love was a gift that we will treasure
forever. She left a piece of her beautiful heart with us, and that is how her daughters will keep
on going.
She is survived by her two daughters, Grisell and Gladys, and their respective husbands,
Richard and Patrick, her two grandchildren, Marlene and Richard, her respective spouses,
Christopher and Kristin, and four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Richard, Ava, and Aidan.
She will be forever missed, but we will carry her love as a compass, forever guiding our lives
