Gladys M Barrios

Gladys Maria Barrios, 94, of Miami Gardens, died Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

She was born to the late Adolfo Arteaga and Gilma Alvarez on October 17th, 1931, in Barranquilla, Colombia.  She married the late Alfonso Luis Barrios in 1957, and later migrated to the United States in 1969.

Gladys was a devoted wife and mother passionate about making a difference in the life of her husband, children and nephews. Though making a good life for herself in the United States alongside her husband, she never forgot about the family she left behind in her native Colombia.

Gladys is survived by her children Fred (Lelia) Barrios, of Jacksonville, FL; Iveth (Johnny) Diaz, of Tamarac, FL; and Orlando (Andrea) Barrios, of Coral Springs, FL. She is survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Vista Funeral Home. Our beloved mother will be buried at 1:30 PM on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at Vista Memorial Gardens.
