Gerald Nathan Volante

On Thursday, August 18, 2022, Gerald Nathan Volante lost his 25-year battle
with kidney disease. He received a kidney transplant on November 18, 2018.
We were so hopeful. He was born on July 17 th 1971.
In December, 2021 he contracted Covid Virus. In April he contracted another
Virus.
There was always a chance he could contract Lymphoma. After April
he began showing signs that something was wrong. During his last month
of his life, he did contract it.
He will be interned with his Aunt, Sylvia Dulbs Murray, Sasha. When
Nathan was little he could not say Sylvia so he called her Sasha. Who knew
27 years later he would join her. The rest of the family is already there.
Gerald Nathan is survived by his parents, Anthony and Shirley Dulbs Volante,
Miami.
He is also survived by his cousins Lois Murray Lastra, Miami Lakes and
Bianca Lastra Moreno.
Gabe and Rosa Volante, who always remembered his birthday, Coconut Creek.
He is also survived by his uncle and Aunt Michael and Mary Jo Volante and
Family, Miami Lakes. His Aunt and Uncle Alba and Tony DiGiorgio and family,
Boca Raton.
He was born at North Miami General Hospital. He was baptized at Saint
Patricks Catholic Church.
Gerald Nathan was a graduate of Von Wedel School and Miami Country Day
Day School. He earned 2 undergraduate degrees from Barry University.
One degree in Economics and Finance and one in Math.
For the past 15 years he was employed by Miami/Dade County Public Schools.
He began with Doctors Charter School, then Miami Edison High School and
finally with Miami Northwestern High School. He felt strongly about learning.

He cared for his students.
He was a very private person; his friends will attest to that. Teri and Christine
and many other friends miss him terribly. They took him out on his birthday
In July, he had a great time. Who knew it would his last birthday.
Gerald Nathan's father and I would like to thank the doctors and staff at
Jackson Memorial Hospital for the caregiving every time he was a patient.
The past 2 ½ weeks were difficult and when you hear 'no hope' it's awful.
They made it better for us.
For the past 24 years, his cardiologist, Dr. Cesar Pellerano and everyone
In his office went above and beyond for his care.
