Georgia Reyes

February 15, 1938 — June 22, 2023

"She loved greatly, was loved greatly, and built a beautiful life for us"
With love, we announce the passing of Georgia Reyes. She was a mother, grandmother, daughter, and
friend. She loved deeply and loyally. Her unique wit and quiet humor were charming, and she was an
inspiration to all who met her. Her elegance and grace preceded her.
She was born in Cabaiguan, Las Villas, Cuba to Manuel Rey and Josefa Arias. She was the middle of five
children: Manolito, Anita, Amelia and Panchita, and always carried her family and country proudly in her
heart. She came to the US, 6 months pregnant with her son Ted Reyes, and along with her former
husband Pablo Reyes, built a beautiful life and instilled the love of family and a strong work ethic to both
her children. She was fiercely independent, and as an accountant, she ran her own firm until a few years
ago. Many will remember her smile and the attraction that drew people to her of all generations, as
well as her Friday nights with friends at "Casa Juancho".
Towards the end of her life, she continued with her optimism and joy in living, even though her physical
and emotional challenges were great. She showed a resilience, courage and love that served as an
example to all. She will leave her light in everyone that she touched.
She is survived by her daughter, Ivy Montero, her beautiful and beloved grandsons Teddy & Timmy,
along with grandchildren Yulissa, Jessie and Yessenia as well as 5 adorable great-granddaughters.
Cheers to a life well lived!
