Flora Battle

Flor de María Marengo Battle, 08-26-1935 -03-27-2020,

passed away at her home after a short illness.  She was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. was widowed at  24, and was a hard worker.   She is survived by her daughters, whom she raised on her own, choosing to be a single parent:  Diana Battle Duer (Charles), Carmen Battle, and Janet Battle Mercado (Frank).  She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: David, Karla, Charlie, Amanda, Malisa,  Krystal; and by her great-grandchildren.

She loved eating at Denny's and Flannigan's, enjoyed a good strawberry sundae, loved her strawberry birthday cakes, pasteles, arroz con gandules, and a good cup of coffee.  Loved music, especially Lou Rawls', You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine; Javier Solis, but absolutely adored, El Flaco, Marc Anthony's music, especially Preciosa. She was a lover of animals and had a wonderful green thumb. She was a feisty, red-headed spitfire who loved to dance, loved fiercely, worked tirelessly to support her girls, and had a wonderful wit. She will be missed by all who had the fortune to have known and loved her.  Preciosa, we're gonna miss your loving.

Visitation is at Vista Funeral Home, Thursday, April 2, 2020 from 12:30-1:30pm. Internment will follow at 1:30pm, Vista Memorial Gardens.  Both are located at 5755 NW 142 Street, Miami Lakes, FL 51264
