Ela Isabel Medina

Ela Isabel Medina, loving daughter of David S. and Elida E. Marmol, sister to Elida Ramos, Enna Puntervold, David Marmol and Enedina Neaves, was born in San Luis, Pinar del Rio, Cuba on November 5th, 1961.

She arrived along with her family to the US at nine years old.  Ela adapted to a new way of life alongside her siblings and graduated from Hialeah High School in 1980. She continued her education and earned a bachelor's degree from Florida International University.  Ela went on to become an Elementary School Teacher and a Healthcare Counselor — a testament to her selfless dedication to helping and educating others.

She lived a joyful life that she readily shared with all those around her. She loved music, traveling and Disney movies. Spending quality time with her family and friends was one of her favorite things to do.  Often described as a very sweet person with beautiful eyes and a warm smile, Ela lit up any room she entered.

Aunt of Osmin Herrera, Eric Puntervold, Johnny Puntervold, Jessica Neaves , Joshua Neaves, and Janessi Neaves Valdes.

Ela was survived by her three sisters, her daughter and son Chris, grandkids, nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed but her memory will remind us that life is beautiful and worth living.
