Egna
Santos
January 7, 1938 – April 15, 2026
Egna Santos, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026. Born on January 7, 1938, Egna lived a life full of kindness, warmth, and with a generous spirit that touched everyone she met.
Egna was known for her caring nature. Her comforting smile and compassion for others combined with her warm laughter and vivid storytelling made her a pure joy to be around. Her family will forever cherish these amazing qualities and memories with her.
Her family was the center of her world. She adored spending time with her sons, Nelson (Lindsey) and Gil (Debbie), and found immense joy in the laughter and love of her grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Ryan, Christopher, Matthew, and Anna. Egna enjoyed special moments and the companionship of her sister, Dora. Though sad to say goodbye to her husband, Gilberto Santos; her sisters, Eva Caro and Ady Lucio; her brother, Rudolfo Valdes; and her parents, Eladio Valdes and Maria Rafaela Hernandez, she lived her life with the spirit and values they had imprinted on her from an early age.
Egna had a zest for life that was evident in her favorite pastimes. She loved going on cruises with her family and enjoyed being by the water and listening to the ocean. One of her simple pleasures was sitting in her sunroom quietly enjoying the nature outside her door. She loved to sing and dance, letting the rhythm carry her into moments of pure joy. Additionally, she found simple pleasure in visiting the casino playing slot machines, a hobby that brought her excitement and fun whenever she had the chance.
Egna Santos leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. Though her presence will be deeply missed, those who knew her are comforted by the many memories of her joyful spirit and tender heart. May her soul rest in peace, forever dancing in the embrace of those she loved so dearly.
Her life will be honored and remembered in a visitation on April 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vista Funeral Home located at 5755 NW 142nd St, Miami Lakes, FL. Following this, a burial service will be held on May 1, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th St, Doral, FL.
