Dolores R. Lauzardo

Apr 23, 1930 — Feb 23, 2021

The Lauzardo family is grieved to announce the passing of Dolores Romero Lauzardo on Tuesday morning 02/23/21, due to complications from Pneumonia. She was 91.

Born on April 23, 1930, Lola, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in the small town of San Antonio de Rio Blanco del Norte. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Juan Ernesto Lauzardo, son Jorge Lauzardo, grandchildren Michael Lauzardo, Nicole Strachan, Gabriela Lauzardo, great-grandchildren Mateo and Maven Lauzardo, sister Hilda Monteagudo, and nieces Moraima Fernandez and Teresita Monteagudo.

Lola and Juan moved from Cuba to Miami in the mid-1950s and were followed by family in the early 1960s. When first arriving to the U.S., Lola worked as a seamstress in Miami. She became one of the best in the area. Later in life she became interested in baking and designing cakes. As with everything she did in life, she excelled at her new-found hobby. Always baking and designing cakes for friends, family and her beloved church group

Considered the center and rock of their family, Lola and Juan shared and did everything together; they were inseparable.  Lola lived a life of love and service to her family, friends and those in need. The couple were deeply involved with their local Catholic church. Lola was part of the Presidency of "El Movimiento Familiar Cristiano," at Casa Cana; under the direction of the late Father Ángel Villaronga, where she was involved with many charitable and Christian projects. Always loving, always serving.

Lola and Ernesto shared a wonderful life together, traveling the World from Europe to Hawaii to Alaska and everywhere in between their life was an adventure.

There will be a viewing at Vista Memorial in Miami Lakes on Thursday March 4, 2021 between 10am-1pm and burial will be at 1:30. Per Vista Memorial policy, only immediate family will be permitted, however, those wishing to attend the burial may do so at a distance or from their cars.

The Lauzardo family wishes to express our gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and love shown our family in this very difficult time.

Condolences to the family may be shared in our online guestbook.
