Denise E. Simpson now enjoys a healing miracle. Her body is no longer ravaged by illness, suffering or pain. She passed away on July 10, 2024, at the age of 46.
She was born to Martha Martinez and the late Ricardo Martinez in Barranquilla, Colombia; married to Inness Simpson with two beautiful daughters, Hope and Truth in Miami, Florida.
Denise battled dialysis, kidney/pancreas transplant rejection, colon cancer, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma throughout her live, yet she managed to start a family when the doctors said she could not, obtain her master's degree on Psychology and was working towards her doctorate. Her job as a therapist – most of the time for free – encouraged others to see that as she said, "every day is a Gift, even when it's not wrapped in a pretty bow."
There is a saying that "everybody who dies is always good." But the truth is that Denise was strong, brave, compassionate, and resilient. All who had the privilege to meet her can attest to meeting a kind, caring person. Even when you disagreed with her, you could not stay upset because she always found a way back to you. Yes, she had a strong character but that was what made her resilient and an inspiring story.
She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and made sure to create a community for her husband Inness and her daughters, Hope and Truth. Let us enjoy the happy memories, smile when remembering her jokes, tear up when we miss her but make sure that we take care of her legacy – Hope and Truth.
Her faith in the almighty God gave her strength to face adversity and always push forward, but rest assured, she is happily in the hands of her Maker.
Her husband, daughters, mother, siblings, and their families invite you to the visitation to be held on July 18, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. – to 10:00 p.m. at Vista Funeral Home. The burial will be held on July 19, 2024, at 9:45 a.m. at Vista Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a monetary donation be made for her husband and children via Zelle to 786-200-0328.
Anyone wishing to send the family a message or share a story is asked to visit Denise's memorial page at www.vistafunerals.com.
