Deleida Caballero

Deleida Caballero, (95 years old), a resident of Manhattan, New York died on June 14th, 2022. She was born on March 13th, 1927 in Santa Clara, Cuba. Her parents were Miguel Caballero and Ana Dolores Fleites. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Diego Caballero and her sister, Zoila Curbelo. She is survived by her siblings, Oneida Gonzalez and Oscar Caballero, and her nieces, nephews, great-
nieces and great- nephews.

She grew up in Cuba during the Great Depression. She emigrated to the United States with her parents in the late 1950's for more economic opportunities. She settled in New York City and worked for Nina's Shoes in retail and modeling. Deleida enjoyed watching television, especially the Yankees and telenovelas. She loved catching up with her family and friends on the phone. She worked on her
word search puzzles daily and attended Sunday services at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in New York City with her friends. She donated to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital and to her church. She is remembered for her love of family and friends. Deleida was devoted and loyal to all those around her. She visited family and friends who were ill, took care of her niece's and nephew's pets, and gave money to friends and family when they were in need. Deleida was a loving, caring daughter, sibling, aunt, godmother, and friend. Her absence will be felt by all who loved her dearly.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lakes Church in Miami Lakes on June 23rd , 2022. at 1:00pm

The internment will follow at 2: 00 P.M. at Vista Memorial Gardens, located at 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
