DALSTON ISAIAH LINDO

Dalston Isaiah Lindo, affectionately known as “Uncle,” was born on June 18, 1943, the youngest child of James and Inez Lindo.

Dalston received his education in St. Catherine, Jamaica. After completing his education, he moved to Kingston, Jamaica, where he apprenticed as an electrician.

In his early twenties, Dalston’s adventurous spirit led him to a life at sea, where he worked as a steward aboard the MS Southward. In 1973, he migrated to Miami, Florida, where he met and married Bonnie Moore. From their union came his beloved daughter, Linka Lindo.

Dalston later began a long and dedicated career with Miami-Dade Transit, where he worked as a bus operator until his retirement in 2009.

On Valentine’s Day in 1986, Dalston met Jean on a blind date. Their connection quickly blossomed, and the two were married on August 1, 1986. Together, they shared 40 years of marriage, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2026.

Dalston accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized in January 2004 at Sierra Calvary Baptist Church. His faith became an important part of his life, and he faithfully served in the church’s bus ministry. Through this ministry, Dalston became a favorite among the senior members of the congregation, whom he lovingly transported to and from worship services each Sunday. His kindness, dependability, and warm spirit endeared him to many.

After a long illness, Dalston peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jean; his daughter, Linka; his stepson, Paul Gary; his stepdaughter, Stacey; his sister, Lovelin; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved church family.

Dalston was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inez Lindo, and his siblings: Hilda, Elfreda, Lester, Rupert, Unella, Mavis, and Cornell.

Dalston will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his devotion to his family and faith, his years of dedicated service, and the kindness he extended to those around him. His life touched many, and his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
