Clara Berta Alameda Rotger

Our beloved mother, Clara Berta Rotger who was 93 years old, went to heaven on her birthday, July 12, 2024. She was born in 1931 in El Cristo, Santiago de Cuba. She married the late Jose Rotger in 1960 and they lived happily together in North Miami.

After departing Cuba in 1957 to escape the Castro regime and leaving her parents behind while studying pharmacy, she arrived in Miami in pursuit of her aspirations. There, she enrolled at the University of Miami to study English. Shortly after, her and her husband left for Mississippi for a career in the Air Force. However, a family tragedy prompted their return to Miami to care for their niece and nephews. Over time, she transitioned to become a Medical Assistant and ultimately earned an associate's degree from Miami Dade Community College.

Despite facing challenges after her husband's passing, she dedicated herself to raising her son and daughter, inspiring them to pursue their careers and start families of their own.

In her leisure time, she found joy in sewing, cooking, and reading, always eager to share her wisdom with others. She cherished holiday gatherings where she could celebrate with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne M. Rotger-Orozco of Miami, Florida, and her son, Jose M. Rotger of Davie, Florida. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Joseph, Jason, James, Jessica, and Anthony.

"Mom we love you, and one day we will be all together in Heaven."

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 6 pm – 10 pm at Vista Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am at St. James Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Vista Memorial Cemetery.
